All saints day at the Polish cematary
The Polish day of the dead tradition dictates that you light a candle at your relatives grave or at the grave of someone that has no relatives to light a candle

Weekend Adventure
Today me and Nancy decided to go on a feild trip. We got in the car and headed towards MA, via route 44, with no specific destination in mind. Along the way we found some old historic iron furnaces, a winery and beautiful fall views all around

Race in the park
In order to contribute to breast cancer research (boobs are awesome and need to be preserved) and to get a good workout, I participated in the race in the park at walnut hill. I ran the 5k (3.1 miles) in 24.12, which is a personal best for me. This is my second race this year and I am really getting into it. My goal for the next one is 23.00. I also did the 4k walk with Nancy and the Robertsons. It was fun.

A walk in the suburban woods
Today me and Sarah went for a walk near rogers orchards. What we found was three run down cars on the trail and a sign, undoubtedly placed there too late. Run down cars seem to be a staple of suburban hiking. Probably resulting from some drunk redneck off roading, getting stuck and abandoning the vehicle. Years of erosion and violent attacks by passerby eventually reduce the car to a hunk of metal.

Easter Sunday at ciocia Jadzia's
Me and Nancy spent easter sunday with my aunt Jadzia and my cousin Jake, his wife Ania and their two year old daughter Amelia. As always the food was great (my cousin is a chef at a polish restaraunt) with the traditional zurek and of course, plenty of kielbasa.

The old mine in Roxbury
This saturday morning Me, Jim and Mike went to explore the remains of an old iron mine and processing center. Built in 1863, it was a full scale medival operation that separated iron from the abundant quartz rock. For reasons unknow, the operation closed in 1875, but the bulidings as well as the many miles of underground mines still remain. Sadly access to the mine is blocked off. Probably for the better...

Playing nails at Jill's house
This is how to play nails, the greatest redneck game ever. You take turns trying to completely hit in the opponents' nail; the winner being the one with the last nail standing. First, you get a stump of wood and each competitor nails a large nail about a half inch into it. Then you take turns throwing a hammer up in the air and trying to catch it. If you flip it up and catch it, you get one shot at sinking your opponents nails. If you throw it under your leg, you get two, behind the back - three, and four if you flip it over the shoulder. You must always be holding a beer in your hand as well as catch the hammer by the rubber part.

I was playing around with the micro setting on my camera and took these pictures of a sweater. The fibers are so thin that they are almost invisible to the naked eye.
